Education A full programme of workshops accompanies Busk: Kings of the Sidewalk. The company will be team-teaching during the tour. Two dance artists will provide your school, youth or community group with an inspirational workshop, bringing themes and dance styles from their show alive and giving students a unique insight into hip hop culture from some of the UK’s leading dancers. Workshop One: Body Junk Make music with your body! Learn rhythmic claps and stamps, vocal and percussive foot rhythms. Banxy explores this theme in Busk: Kings of the Sidewalk and students can learn a short sequence from the show and get creative with sound and rhythm. This workshop is targeted at 10 to 13 year olds (years 6 - 9). No dance experience is necessary. Workshop Two: B-Boyin’ Styles Explore locking, popping and breaking styles, learn about where they come from and how they’ve been developed by different crews and pioneers. Learn a routine from the show – add your own flavour and make it funky! This workshop is targeted at 14 -18 year olds with dance experience (Years 10 - 13 / post 16). Workshops are 2 hours minimum to enable taught material and creative work. Please note that Schools workshops will only be taken on condition of a group booking (10 and one teacher minimum) to see Busk: Kings of the Sidewalk on tour.
