James Hyland/Brother Wolf
Large - small scale available throughout 2012 and 2013 UK and International

LONDON THEATRE AWARD WINNER 2012

Brother Wolf presents two outstanding solo productions:

Fagin's Last Hour (in association with Harrogate Theatre)

Based on the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens’ classic tale of crime and punishment is stunningly re-imagined in this powerful new stage adaptation. Told from the point of view of Fagin the Miser, one hour before his execution, this unique one-man show offers a fresh insight into literature’s most controversial villain.

A Christmas Carol – As told by Jacob Marley (deceased)

Told from the perspective of Scrooge’s deceased business partner, this critically acclaimed and record-breaking box office hit promises thrills, chills and excitement aplenty. Jacob Marley is dead and condemned to an eternity of carrying a heavy chain, forged in life; a life to which he can no longer return except to recount the tale of his miserly business partner, Ebenezer Scrooge, and the path that lead to his redemption. Through Marley’s words, we learn how three magical spirits opened Scrooge’s eyes and made him realise the

true value of love and forgiveness.

JAMES HYLAND / BROTHER WOLF

James Hyland is an award-winning actor, as well as a writer, producer, director and film-editor.

He is also the Artistic Director and Founder of Brother Wolf.

At 22 James won the Guardian International Student Drama Award at the Edinburgh Festival. He subsequently went on to perform with theatre groups such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, performing multiple tours and winning four more awards for his performances on stage and screen. Under the mantle of his production company, Brother Wolf, James has written, produced and acted in several projects that have gained universal acclaim including DEAD MEAT (“Dario Fo meets Mike Leigh” – Time Out); HARD TIMES, another Dickensian adaptation (“impeccably-acted, creative storytelling” – News Shopper); and his ground-breaking one-man show A CHRISTMAS CAROL - AS TOLD BY JACOB MARLEY (DECEASED), a sell-out hit in London’s West End.

Many other roles have also earned Hyland widespread acclaim, including his portrayal of psychopath Joseph Smith in THE FIRE RAISERS (“The star of this show is undoubtedly James Hyland” – Theatre World), and his much-admired commercial for PERSIL COLOUR in which he took on the comedy role of a Heavy Metal rock band member, one of the longest-running commercials in European history, a cult hit which has since spawned a sequel. James can currently be seen in Brit award-winning Tinie Tempah’s new music video DISAPPOINT YOU in which he plays the lead role of a corrupt police officer, for which James also wrote the dialogue, as well as the lead role in THE CAKE MAKER, a soon-to-be-released feature film in which James plays an old-school London gangster.
