Testimonials:
“We are very pleased and delighted with the work that Curtis did whilst here in Nottingham. The response to his workshops was fantastic; some of the young people who I regularly work with would not have danced or used their bodies to express themselves for love nor money before working with Curtis! The school kids we worked with seemed to really enjoy themselves as well as the teachers, my YARD group took away a lot from the three sessions they worked with Curtis on. Also the performances went down really well with three totally different audiences.”
New Art Exchange, Nottingham.
‘Through leading workshops with STUDIO YOUTH Dance Company, Curtis created a dynamic performance piece that explored the issues young people face when dealing with violence in their communities. Throughout the process Curtis worked creatively and technically with the group, and was able to give the participants a unique voice to express their thoughts and feelings. Whilst challenging and disciplined, Curtis’s energy left us enthused and with a greater understanding of how to develop and communicate ideas.’
Bonnie Oddie, Artistic Director Studio Youth, London Studios Centre
‘I have learnt to write my feelings down and express them through dance and that we could express ourselves and still have fun.’
‘He’s a great guy and taught me how to release my inner nerd.’
‘He was nice, not very strict and was clear with what we had to do. Very good.’
‘It has improved my confidence because I’m not used to performing in front of an audience.’
‘It really could have been longer as I didn’t want it to end.’
‘It was a brilliant opportunity and I would love to do this again.’
