The Orchestral Project (working title)

To mark his 50th birthday, Billy is embarking on a new project to present his music with a fresh approach. This one off project will feature a specially assembled 15 piece ‘orchestra’ and vocal contributions from special guest artists, as well as his own band.

Featuring new works as well as a selected back catalogue , this touring show presents a broad view of the creativity of Billy Childish. Painting, writing, film, poetry and print as well as events and performances.

Childish's practice is informed by a tireless curiosity for themes as varied as war, the history and topography of his local and personal environment, social protest, hill walking and religious philosophy. Without the need for validation or approval from the art world, Childish has developed an
