In a series of animated snap-shots, Lawrence presents the personalities and events which shaped his early life. A complex and self-contradictory character, often out of step with his background and education, Lawrence is revealed as a man of song with a gift for mimicry as well as profound story-telling and an ability to challenge the sexual mores of his generation in works such as Lady Chatterley’s Lover and The Virgin and the Gypsy.
