Robertson’s Crusoe : No Man’s An Island
Produced in association with The Civic Barnsley, ECT & makin projects
Devised and performed by Gavin Robertson (‘Thunderbirds F.A.B’, ‘The Six-Sided Man’,
‘Spittoon’, ‘A Grimm World’, ‘2010 A Space Oddity’, ’Vampirates’) this is a new solo
show for 2012.
A layered show that parallels the classic novel by Daniel Defoe, ‘CRUSOE’ features
a hit-man, isolated by his profession, but of a philosophical turn of mind! Performed
in a physical style, with movement, an original music soundtrack and Gavin Robertson’s
usual acting precision, atmospheric lighting, and attention to detail.
A chic, stylish, thought-provoking and textured production.
‘A visual fable about hope, courage, and redemption for a recession-hit UK!’
Gavin Robertson performs with a subtle conviction that is compelling to watch’ –
The Guardian
‘Careful observation and sheer skill!’ - The Independent
‘A physical perfection that gives you the chills’ – Zwolle Courant (the Netherlands)
