Mark and Penny are the founders and co-directors of Cheltenham Spa Comedy Festival (ran for 10 years), Hertford Comedy Festival (ran for 6 years) and Leamington Spa Comedy Festival (still going strong after 13 years) and project manager on Leicester Comedy Festivals’ The Big Weekends initiative (4 years and counting).
We regularly book both family friendly and adult evening stand-up comedy and cabaret line ups for a number of UK festivals, one off events and an increasing number regular comedy clubs.

makin projects have teamed up with our friends at Laugh Out Proud London to offer out their inclusive and welcoming comedy clubs to our venues and comedy partners around the UK.
LAUGH OUT PROUD IS LONDON’S BRAND NEW LGBTQIA+ COMEDY NIGHT featuring the best in established and upcoming acts from the community on the UK comedy circuit.
This night is all about giving acts and audiences alike a fun and friendly place to express themselves, kick back, have a laugh and good time.
Hosted by bisexual comedian Mark Cram it’s always a belting evening of comedy gold with a tonne of laughs. Whether it's comedy, cabaret or anything in between - Laugh Out Proud is the queer night out you're looking for.
Our comedy club venues include:
Theatres, arts centres, bars, marquees, big-tops, pubs, Bingo-Halls, school halls, village halls and we even run one held in a secret bikers club that’s accessed through a fridge!
Regular comedy-club nights feature either three or four comedians and run with either one or two intervals (totally the venues choice).
We are proud to work directly with over 90 diverse stand-up and cabaret comedians, and also source artists via trusted agencies such as GagReflex, UTC Artist Management and a Rush Of Laughter.
We contract all artists, arrange schedules, invoicing, payment schedules, liaise with venue tech teams and provide suitable images and marketing copy for venue brochures and websites and deal with any problems that may arise on the day.
