Tiata Fahodzi

Arinze Kene’s Good Dog, which he wrote whilst on attachment at the NT Studio, started with a desire to imagine what drove his friends and his community to riot – in London and beyond – but became a chronicle of a multi-cultural community and the people and geography that leave their fingerprints on your life.

Good Dog is an astonishingly written monologue following a 13 year old boy – our narrator – over many years.

It’s about community, about growing up in a multi-cultural borough, about trauma and about what happens when you lose faith in being good. The tale he tells is epic, spanning multiple streets, families and years.

Tiata Fahodzi is Britain’s leading African theatre company, producing world-class theatre that reflects the changing African diaspora in contemporary Britain. The theatre company exists to celebrate and question the experiences of Africans.

Financial Times
‘Writer and Director Natalie Ibu presents a moving and heartbreaking narrative, a narrative that repeats the everyday, the mundane, but highlights how the change in family infrastructure can completely alter the ordinary. A must see, I had to hold back the tears.’
