We dare you to take a journey into the macarbe world of Woyzeck.
A startling depiction of the lowly soldier plagued by visions of the apocalypse and plunged into homicidal lunacy by the world around him.
Was it down to the crazy voices in his head? Was it the cuckolding lover and the smug drum major? Was it down to increasing social pressures, or did the constant diet of peas just mash his brain?
Fusing gothic storytelling, puppetry, song, live music and a spine chilling sound track, this production takes the audience into a world that is disturbingly atmospheric, heart breakingly poignant, darkly comic and delightfully interactive.
WOYZECK is a set text and is studied extensively and is on the schools curriculum. This production will be supported with a free detailed teachers pack and can be booked with a workshop which enables students to work practically on all practitioner styles covered. The company use a range of styles and influences from Brecht, Berkoff, Godber, Stanislavski and Artaud to create a thrilling theatrical experience that will inspire students and provide a toolkit of innovative ideas and approaches to a piece of text.
